Looking for advice on IM signals. USMD applicant from a lower tier school in the Southeast. Hoping to match at a strong academic program that will keep fellowship options open but not set on a specific fellowship right now. Mainly looking along the East Coast/Southeast and have family ties to the Northeast.

Clerkships: Top quartile, honored all core clerkships and medicine sub-I.

Research: 1 publication, 3 manuscripts submitted/under review, 4 posters (1 first author)

Extracurriculars: Longitudinal volunteering with some leadership and mentoring.

Honors: AOA

Geo Prefs: Middle Atlantic, South Atlantic, East South Central

Not sure how aggressive to be with signals coming from a less well-known med school with limited match history at some of these programs. Is my list too top heavy? Any signals you would swap?
