hey guys- im prob way out of my league (dont flame me lol) but i hope yalls residency cycle is going well. im applying for med school rn and in my gap year.

i feel in freshman year undergrad, i couldve rlly benefited from understanding what the next 4 years ahead of me wouldve looked like. for example, i wish i knew that getting publications is super relevant for getting into a competitive school/residency and other random stuff. it wouldve def helped given i am a slowww learner lol.

all this to say i wanna know what yall as M4s would tell an M1 (or me being gap year). main things i wanna know is:

1. i wanna study smth in my gap year (even if its 30 mins to an hour a day). feel like itll compound and help in med school. (im not a tryhard but im just genuinely SLOW)

2. would anyone be down to be a mentor? 😭 i wouldve been saved in undergrad if someone treated me as their messi or lebron project.
