Signal strategy Non-US IMG Visa Req
Good morning, everyone,
I'd love to hear your advice regarding my signaling strategy. Some info about me:
- Cardiologist from Europe, visa-requiring
- YOG: +7, but no gaps
- Med School: ranked in top 2% of students
- Completed 6 years of residency + fellowship in cardiology in one of the "big" European hospitals. Good LORs from my PDs.
- Step 1: Pass (1st try)
- Step 2: 274 (1 st try)
- Step 3: awaiting result
- Research: Not much, awaiting publication of one first-author article and am also co-editor of a cardiology textbook (which is already published).
- Currently research fellow at one of the T20 US centers. I'll have some more research output, but I don't think any will come out before the application period begins.
I'm trying to match in an IM residency that would give me good chances to match back into cardiology, in an academic center, because I'd like to go into heart failure / transplant afterwards.
I think my list is kind of YOLO, but I don't mind not matching this year, so though about going all in this time, my YOG is high anyways, so I haven't got much to lose, I suppose:)
Have a great day and thank you kindly for your help!
